To all of our children

When I was told to close the school on Friday 20th March, this was the saddest day of my career that spans 25 years.

Making sure that our school is the best that it can be, doing ambitious and exciting things to inspire learning, motivates me to do my job every day.

For now, for a while, things are going to be different. School is closed to most children to keep everyone safe. Your teachers are planning work for you to do at home. For the first two weeks you have been given a pack to complete at home. After Easter, work will be published on the website and will also be emailed to you. On the website you need to access the 'Pupils' tab and a drop down menu will appear for each year group. Work will be posted on the website every Friday for completion the following week. You can also email your teachers if you would like to. In this drop down menu, there is also a 'Community' link, this is where Mrs Carter, our librarian, is uploading stories and occasionally I will upload a video to you too.

Year 6 - You have worked so hard this year and throughout your time at Headlands and whilst SATs will not happen this year, know that you are ready for secondary school academically and as young people. We are all so very proud of you! I PROMISE that we will have our leaving assembly at some point, at present we just don't know when.

Our school values are DARE (Determination, Achievement, Respect, Enjoyment). You show them every day in school with all that you do. Now you must continue to show them at home.

Everyone at Headlands misses you all very much. Stay safe!

Mr Smith
